Trafalgar Square is a public square located in the City of Westminister, London. It is a prominent tourist spot because of its rich history. It is not wrong in saying that a visit to London is incomplete without exploring Trafalgar Square.

The Trafalgar Square's name commemorates the 'Battle of Trafalgar'. It is home to several statues, including Nelson's column. Nelson's column stands in the centre with four lion statues guarding it. The commemorative statues and sculptures occupy the place with a Fourth Plinth, which has been empty since 1840. Trafalgar Square is surrounded by roadways on three sides and the National Gallery. Prominent buildings around the square are South Africa House, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and Canada House.

The square serves as a platform for artistic performances and events. It is also a common site for political demonstrations; to name a few are Bloody Sunday (1887), Aldermaston March, protest against climate change etc.
